I asked for drawings of a 4 year old girl (toddler) with brown hair, brown eyes and a 3 year old boy with blonde hair and blue eyes.  This is what they sent me.

Neither one even comes close to what I asked for.  4 year old girls do not have breasts, neither character had the correct hair color or eye color.  I have had to send them pictures of people with blonde, brunette and red hair before they finally got it correct.  The same with the eye color.  I’ve sent them pictures of children the same age as the characters were to be and they still didn’t get it right.  I’ve also sent them links [see below] to children’s catalogs to get them to produce clothing that was age appropriate.

Here are a couple of examples of what I’ve had to create and send to the webmaster in an attempt to get what I asked for:  Please note the number of times “second request” is listed.

This is how much detail I have had to send to them to get them to make the changes I asked for… more than once!  All of this for one character, and I haven’t shown you all that was done, just some of it.

I cannot spend this much time, preparing these kinds of instructions on 30+ different drawings because they do not understand English.

Please note the way this character is standing.  I have asked Vikram three (3) times to verify that he understands that the boy (and girl) need to be doing different things in each drawing, not always in the same position with a different background.  He never answered that question.  Here’s the latest drawing he sent of the boy after I asked the question the 3rd time.  Clearly he does not understand!

The boy should be bent over picking up his toys. Not always standing in the same position.

After I received the latest picture, I decided I cannot continue to work with this webmaster.  Here are my responses to Mr. Vikram’s comments:

Our submissions are:

We have provided updates from time to time.—Yes, but often updates did not include the corrections that I asked for.

We have followed almost all the instructions.—They are being paid to follow my directions ALL of the time!

Minor differences that remains may have left out due to:

   a. Designers did that was find from graphics point of view.— What the designer was supposed to do was to produce what I asked for and it’s Mr. Vikram’s job to make sure that they comply with all of my requests and to answer all of my questions.

   b. Time period for getting updates from client was bit more then expected.  - Yes, often because I was so frustrated at the results they sent me and the time it takes me to send detailed examples (as shown above) of how to fix the problems.  I do not have the time to give them this much instruction.

Further, since 2 main characters are finalized, we would like to continue the project.  We are also ready to allot 1 more designer to quickly finalizing this project.  When they tell me they are going to do this project quickly, after all of the problems we have had to this point, causes me great distress.  I cannot even imagine what I’ll get as a result of them doing a bad job quickly.  No thank you.

I am willing to pay Mr. Vikram $75.00 to cover the cost of the work that has already been done.  Which is more than fair, given the agreed upon price was $15. per drawing.  And I want the remainder of the money in the escrow account returned to me as soon as possible.

I await your reply.

Sincerely,

Auntie Jay
